Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Martin Schongauer could be acquired at Christies in New York in January this year for an unexpectedly low price. In the Old Master and 19th Century Prints auction, the work Two Turks changed hands for USD 11,970.00 (€ 11,024.13) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 12,000.00 – 18,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Martin Schongauer achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Death of the Virgin in January 2019 with an auction result of USD 492,500.00 (€ 429,980.79).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Martin Schongauer konnte im Januar diesen Jahres bei Christies in New York für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion Old Master and 19th Century Prints wechselte die Arbeit Two Turks für USD 11.970,00 (€ 11.024,13) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 12.000,00 – 18.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Martin Schongauer erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Death of the Virgin im Januar 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 492.500,00 (€ 429.980,79).
