Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Martin Schongauer could be acquired at Sothebys in London in December 2021 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Old Master Prints auction, the work The Baptism of Christ (Bartsch, Hollstein, Lehrs 8) changed hands for GBP 882.00 (€ 1,052.04) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 1,000.00 – 2,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Martin Schongauer achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Death of the Virgin in January 2019 with an auction result of USD 492,500.00 (€ 429,980.79).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Martin Schongauer konnte im Dezember 2021 bei Sothebys in London für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion Old Master Prints wechselte die Arbeit The Baptism of Christ (Bartsch, Hollstein, Lehrs 8) für GBP 882,00 (€ 1.052,04) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 1.000,00 – 2.000,00.
