In December 2010 Christies in London held the auction Old Master & 19th Century Paintings, Drawings & Watercolours (Day Sale), which included the work The Adoration of the Magi by Martin Johann Schmidt. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 23,750.00 (€ 27,549.93), 58% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Martin Johann Schmidt - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Saint Florian Rescuing The Burning Stockern Castle; Saint John Nepomuk, which sold at auction in January 2012 for USD 92,500.00 (€ 70,864.94).

Im Dezember 2010 führte Christies in London die Auktion Old Master & 19th Century Paintings, Drawings & Watercolours (Day Sale) durch, in der auch die Arbeit The Adoration of the Magi von Martin Johann Schmidt zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 23.750,00 (€ 27.549,93) und damit 58% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Martin Johann Schmidt mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Saint Florian Rescuing The Burning Stockern Castle; Saint John Nepomuk beobachtet, die im Januar 2012 für USD 92.500,00 (€ 70.864,94) versteigert wurde.
