A top price for Martin Gale - as previously expected
The work The Weekender by Martin Gale was sold in the Irish Art auction at Sothebys in London in September 2017. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 7,000.00 – 10,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 7,500.00 (€ 8,508.85) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Even if this result could not surprise positively, The Weekender is the most expensive artwork by Martin Gale that we have observed at auctions so far.
Ein Spitzenpreis mit Ansage
Die Arbeit The Weekender von Martin Gale wurde im September 2017 in der Auktion Irish Art bei Sothebys in London versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 7.000,00 – 10.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 7.500,00 (€ 8.508,85) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Auch wenn das Ergebnis damit nicht positiv überraschen konnte, ist The Weekender das teuerste Kunstwerk von Martin Gale, das wir bisher bei Auktionen beobachtet haben.
