Auction result well in line with expectations
In July 2014 Christies in London held the auction Old Master & British Paintings Day Sale, which included the work A rocky landscape with figures by an iron foundry, a river and houses on the bank beyond by Maerten Ryckaert. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 200,000.00 – 300,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 212,500.00 (€ 268,029.31) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Maerten Ryckaert - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work A River Landscape With The Flight Into Egypt, which sold at auction in January 2009 for USD 698,500.00 (€ 545,532.65).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Juli 2014 führte Christies in London die Auktion Old Master & British Paintings Day Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit A rocky landscape with figures by an iron foundry, a river and houses on the bank beyond von Maerten Ryckaert zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 200.000,00 – 300.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 212.500,00 (€ 268.029,31) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Für andere Arbeiten von Maerten Ryckaert mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit A River Landscape With The Flight Into Egypt beobachtet, die im Januar 2009 für USD 698.500,00 (€ 545.532,65) versteigert wurde.
