In May last year Bonhams in New York held the auction American Art, which included the work Freedom of the Human Spirit 24 1/2 in. (62.2 cm.) high, on a 4 in. (10.2 cm.) high marble base by Marshall Fredericks. The »bidding war« ended at USD 38,175.00 (€ 35,574.50), 53% above the upper estimate. This high result makes Freedom of the Human Spirit 24 1/2 in.
