Signed Tobey and dated 1960. Mixed media on paper 11.5 x 15 cm. Achim Moeller, Managing Principal of the Mark Tobey Project LLC, has confirmed the authenticity. The work is registered in the Mark Tobey archive with the number MT [398-04-27-23].

Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
This work without title by Mark Tobey was sold in the Modern Art + Design auction at Bukowski in Stockholm in May this year. Here, the upper estimate of SEK 125,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for SEK 140,000.00 (€ 12,063.07). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Mark Tobey achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Autumnal Fire in June 2018 with an auction result of EUR 1,389,000.00.
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Diese Arbeit ohne Titel von Mark Tobey wurde im Mai diesen Jahres in der Auktion Modern Art + Design bei Bukowski in Stockholm versteigert. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von SEK 125.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für SEK 140.000,00 (€ 12.063,07) einen neuen Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Mark Tobey erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Autumnal Fire im Juni 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 1.389.000,00.
