Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Mark Justiniani achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in Hong Kong in May 2012. In the Asian Contemporary Art (Day Sale) auction, the work Metropolis sold for HKD 187,500.00 (€ 19,532.51) - well above the upper estimate of HKD 70,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Mark Justiniani; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Spectator sold at auction in October 2013 with the realized price of HKD 300,000.00 (€ 28,468.44).

Dieses Kunstwerk von Mark Justiniani erzielte im Mai 2012 bei Christies in Hong Kong einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Asian Contemporary Art (Day Sale) wurde die Arbeit Metropolis für HKD 187.500,00 (€ 19.532,51) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von HKD 70.000,00. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Mark Justiniani; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit Spectator im Oktober 2013 mit dem Hammerpreis von HKD 300.000,00 (€ 28.468,44).
