Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Mark Beard achieved an unexpectedly high price at Bonhams in New York in June last year. In the The Male Form auction, the work Jim Manfredi in Black / Yellow Singlet sold for USD 7,012.50 (€ 6,698.35) - well above the upper estimate of USD 2,500.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Mark Beard; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Fumeurs sur les roches sold at auction in June this year with the realized price of EUR 11,520.00.
