Auction result well in line with expectations
In November 2002 Christies in London held the auction 19th Century European Art Including Orientalist Pictures, which included the work Nature morte à la citrouille; and Fleurs à la fontaine by Marius Vasselon. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 7,000.00 – 9,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 7,050.00 (€ 11,039.94) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Other works by Marius Vasselon have already achieved higher auction prices, for example, in July 2021 the work Roses, Poppies, Hollyhocks, Pansies and Wisteria in a stone urn supported by putti on a plinth was auctioned for GBP 10,000.00 (€ 11,727.07).
