Auction result well in line with expectations
The work A young beauty tending to summer blooms by Marius Vasselon was sold in the 19th Century European Art including Russian Pictures auction at Christies in London in December 2005. The price achieved of GBP 1,680.00 (€ 2,438.43) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 1,500.00 – 2,000.00. Admittedly, works by Marius Vasselon have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Roses, Poppies, Hollyhocks, Pansies and Wisteria in a stone urn supported by putti on a plinth in July 2021 with an auction result of GBP 10,000.00 (€ 11,727.07).

Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 1.680,00 (€ 2.438,43) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 1.500,00 – 2.000,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Marius Vasselon auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Roses, Poppies, Hollyhocks, Pansies and Wisteria in a stone urn supported by putti on a plinth im Juli 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 10.000,00 (€ 11.727,07).
