Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Dutch figures On A Sandy Track In A Hilly Landscape by Marinus Adrianus Koekkoek was auctioned at Sothebys in London in November 2011, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of GBP 5,000.00 – 7,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for GBP 3,125.00 (€ 3,648.12). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Marinus Adrianus Koekkoek achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work An extensive riverlandscape with figures unloading a stone transport in April 2003 with an auction result of EUR 71,700.00.
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Dutch figures On A Sandy Track In A Hilly Landscape von Marinus Adrianus Koekkoek im November 2011 bei Sothebys in London versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 5.000,00 – 7.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für GBP 3.125,00 (€ 3.648,12) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Marinus Adrianus Koekkoek erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit An extensive riverlandscape with figures unloading a stone transport im April 2003 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 71.700,00.
