In September 2013 Christies in London held the auction 19th Century European Art Including Orientalist Art, which included the work A Rest At The Brook by Marinus Adrianus Koekkoek. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 11,000.00 (€ 13,148.80), 57% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Marinus Adrianus Koekkoek have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work An extensive riverlandscape with figures unloading a stone transport in April 2003 with an auction result of EUR 71,700.00.
Oberer Schätzpreis um 57 % übertroffen
Im September 2013 führte Christies in London die Auktion 19th Century European Art Including Orientalist Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit A Rest At The Brook von Marinus Adrianus Koekkoek zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 11.000,00 (€ 13.148,80) und damit 57% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Marinus Adrianus Koekkoek auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit An extensive riverlandscape with figures unloading a stone transport im April 2003 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 71.700,00.
