This artwork by Marie-Victoire Lemoine achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in New York in January 2007. In the Important Old Master Paintings and European Works of Art auction, the work Portrait Of Madame De Genlis sold for USD 108,000.00 (€ 83,089.71) - well above the upper estimate of USD 60,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Marie-Victoire Lemoine - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work The Two Sisters , which sold at auction in June 2017 for USD 262,500.00 (€ 230,041.19).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 80 % übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Marie-Victoire Lemoine erzielte im Januar 2007 bei Sothebys in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Important Old Master Paintings and European Works of Art wurde die Arbeit Portrait Of Madame De Genlis für USD 108.000,00 (€ 83.089,71) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 60.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Marie-Victoire Lemoine mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit The Two Sisters beobachtet, die im Juni 2017 für USD 262.500,00 (€ 230.041,19) versteigert wurde.
