Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work French La Cascade Du Crozet by Marie-François Firmin-Girard was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in May 2018, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 15,000.00 – 20,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 13,750.00 (€ 11,782.35). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Marie-François Firmin-Girard achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work French Le Quai Aux Fleurs in May 2014 with an auction result of USD 3,021,000.00 (€ 2,214,809.38).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit French La Cascade Du Crozet von Marie-François Firmin-Girard im Mai 2018 bei Sothebys in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 15.000,00 – 20.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 13.750,00 (€ 11.782,35) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Marie-François Firmin-Girard erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit French Le Quai Aux Fleurs im Mai 2014 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 3.021.000,00 (€ 2.214.809,38).
