Auction result misses estimated price range
In November 2020 a collector was able to acquire the work Élégante À L'Ombrelle by Marie-François Firmin-Girard for USD 4,788.00 (€ 4,007.37). This price was achieved in the auction True Connoisseurship: The Collection of Ezra & Cecile Zilkha at Sothebys in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 6,000.00 – 8,000.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Marie-François Firmin-Girard achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work French Le Quai Aux Fleurs in May 2014 with an auction result of USD 3,021,000.00 (€ 2,214,809.38).
