Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Guajiros a caballo y mujer con sombrilla by Mariano Rodríguez was sold in the Latin American Art auction at Christies in New York in May 2018. The price achieved of USD 52,500.00 (€ 44,987.15) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 40,000.00 – 60,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Mariano Rodríguez achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Pelea de gallos in November 2016 with an auction result of USD 1,087,500.00 (€ 1,028,077.14).
