A top price for Mariano Rodríguez - as previously expected
The work Pelea de gallos by Mariano Rodríguez was auctioned at Christies in New York in November 2016. The price achieved of USD 1,087,500.00 (€ 1,028,077.14) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 800,000.00 – 1,200,000.00. Even if this result could not surprise positively, Pelea de gallos is the most expensive artwork by Mariano Rodríguez that we have observed at auctions so far.
