Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Mariano Rodríguez could be acquired at Christies in New York in November 2018 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Latin American Art Online auction, the work Desnudos con gallos y guajiro (Mujeres, gallos y guajiro) changed hands for USD 2,500.00 (€ 2,207.90) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 3,000.00 – 4,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Mariano Rodríguez achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Pelea de gallos in November 2016 with an auction result of USD 1,087,500.00 (€ 1,028,077.14).
