Despite a disappointment, a good price for Maria Ovchinnikova
When the work Lenin by Maria Ovchinnikova was auctioned at Sothebys in London in November 2013, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of GBP 15,000.00 – 20,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for GBP 13,750.00 (€ 16,546.28). Despite this disappointing result, Lenin is the most expensive artwork by Maria Ovchinnikova that we have observed at auction so far.
Trotz Enttäuschung ein guter Preis für Maria Ovchinnikova
Als die Arbeit Lenin von Maria Ovchinnikova im November 2013 bei Sothebys in London versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 15.000,00 – 20.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für GBP 13.750,00 (€ 16.546,28) den Besitzer. Trotz dieses enttäuschenden Ergebnisses ist Lenin das teuerste Kunstwerk von Maria Ovchinnikova, das wir bisher bei Auktionen beobachtet haben.
