In April 2007 Christies in New York held the auction The House Sale, which included the work Roses, tulips, gladiolus and other flowers in a ceramic urn with potted daffodils by Margherita Caffi. The result of USD 6,000.00 (€ 4,392.39) was exactly at the lower end of the estimate range of USD 6,000.00 – 8,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Margherita Caffi achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Vaso di fiori e un bicchiere con garofani su un piano di pietra en plein air Ghirlanda di fiori e un piatto di ceramica su un piano di pietra en plein air in December 2001 with an auction result of ITL 49,000,000.00 (€ 44,040.00).
Zuschlag beim unteren Schätzpreis
Im April 2007 führte Christies in New York die Auktion The House Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit Roses, tulips, gladiolus and other flowers in a ceramic urn with potted daffodils von Margherita Caffi zur Versteigerung kam. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von USD 6.000,00 (€ 4.392,39) entsprach exakt dem unteren Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 6.000,00 – 8.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Margherita Caffi erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Vaso di fiori e un bicchiere con garofani su un piano di pietra en plein air Ghirlanda di fiori e un piatto di ceramica su un piano di pietra en plein air im Dezember 2001 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von ITL 49.000.000,00 (€ 44.040,00).
