Auction result well in line with expectations
In May 2008 Sothebys in New York held the auction American Paintings, Drawings & Sculpture, which included the work Peaches And Grapes by Margaretta Angelica Peale. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 40,000.00 – 60,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 43,000.00 (€ 27,634.96) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Margaretta Angelica Peale - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Melon, Cherries And Plums, which sold at auction in May 2008 for USD 91,000.00 (€ 58,483.29).

Im Mai 2008 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion American Paintings, Drawings & Sculpture durch, in der auch die Arbeit Peaches And Grapes von Margaretta Angelica Peale zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 40.000,00 – 60.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 43.000,00 (€ 27.634,96) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen.
