Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work Five sketches for piano by Margaret Tarrant was sold in the BRITISH ART ON PAPER INCLUDING ORIGINAL BOOK ILLUSTRATIONS auction at Christies in London in July 2003. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 998.75 (€ 1,305.43), 25% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Margaret Tarrant have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work The Young Anglers in June 2001 with an auction result of GBP 3,407.50 (€ 5,660.54).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit Five sketches for piano von Margaret Tarrant wurde im Juli 2003 in der Auktion BRITISH ART ON PAPER INCLUDING ORIGINAL BOOK ILLUSTRATIONS bei Christies in London versteigert. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 998,75 (€ 1.305,43) und damit 25% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Margaret Tarrant auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit The Young Anglers im Juni 2001 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 3.407,50 (€ 5.660,54).
