Auction result well in line with expectations
In July 2003 Christies in London held the auction BRITISH ART ON PAPER INCLUDING ORIGINAL BOOK ILLUSTRATIONS, which included the work An album of pencil drawings by Margaret Winifred Tarrant, including; various figure studies; a view of the Severn from Newnham and Hatchett Mill, the majority inscribed and variously dated 1933 to 1944. by Margaret Tarrant. It changed hands for a price of GBP 470.00 (€ 614.32) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of GBP 300.00 – 500.00. Admittedly, works by Margaret Tarrant have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work The Young Anglers in June 2001 with an auction result of GBP 3,407.50 (€ 5,660.54).

Im Juli 2003 führte Christies in London die Auktion BRITISH ART ON PAPER INCLUDING ORIGINAL BOOK ILLUSTRATIONS durch, in der auch die Arbeit An album of pencil drawings by Margaret Winifred Tarrant, including; various figure studies; a view of the Severn from Newnham and Hatchett Mill, the majority inscribed and variously dated 1933 to 1944. von Margaret Tarrant zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von GBP 470,00 (€ 614,32) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 300,00 – 500,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Margaret Tarrant auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit The Young Anglers im Juni 2001 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 3.407,50 (€ 5.660,54).
