This artwork by Margaret MacDonald Mackintosh achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in London in October 2005. In the The Scottish Sale at The Assembly Rooms, Edinburgh auction, the work Girl with eyes open; and Girl with eyes shut sold for GBP 15,600.00 (€ 23,005.29) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 8,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Margaret MacDonald Mackintosh achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The White Rose and the Red Rose in April 2008 with an auction result of GBP 1,700,500.00 (€ 2,167,897.19).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 95 % übertroffen
