This artwork by Margaret MacDonald Mackintosh achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in London in October 2005. In the The Scottish Sale at The Assembly Rooms, Edinburgh auction, the work Girl with eyes open; and Girl with eyes shut sold for GBP 15,600.00 (€ 23,005.29) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 8,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Margaret MacDonald Mackintosh achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The White Rose and the Red Rose in April 2008 with an auction result of GBP 1,700,500.00 (€ 2,167,897.19).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 95 % übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Margaret MacDonald Mackintosh erzielte im Oktober 2005 bei Christies in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion The Scottish Sale at The Assembly Rooms, Edinburgh wurde die Arbeit Girl with eyes open; and Girl with eyes shut für GBP 15.600,00 (€ 23.005,29) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 8.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Margaret MacDonald Mackintosh erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The White Rose and the Red Rose im April 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 1.700.500,00 (€ 2.167.897,19).
