In the American Art Online auction, the work The Gift sold for USD 3,200.00 (€ 2,952.30) - well above the upper estimate of USD 1,800.00. Admittedly, works by Margaret Keane have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work The Masquerade in August this year with an auction result of USD 12,800.00 (€ 11,809.21).

Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Margaret Keane auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit The Masquerade im August diesen Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 12.800,00 (€ 11.809,21).
