Auction result well in line with expectations
The work The Adoration Of The Shepherds by Marco Benefial was sold in the Master Paintings auction at Sothebys in New York in May 2016. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 10,000.00 – 15,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 10,625.00 (€ 9,541.98) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Marco Benefial - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work A Man On Crutches, which sold at auction in July 2016 for GBP 18,750.00 (€ 22,279.06).
