Auction result well in line with expectations
The work The Deposition by Marcellus Coffermans was sold in the OLD MASTER PICTURES auction at Christies in Amsterdam in May 2002. The price achieved of EUR 29,875.00 was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as EUR 25,000.00 – 35,000.00. Admittedly, works by Marcellus Coffermans have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work A triptych: central panel: The Visitation; left wing: The Virgin Annunciate; right wing: The Angel of the Annunciation in July 2003 with an auction result of GBP 128,450.00 (€ 167,892.81).
