In March 2021 Sothebys in Paris held the auction Collection Pierre Le-Tan, Session II, which included the work Three Portraits of the Artist's Mother by Marcellin Gilbert Desboutin. The »bidding war« ended at EUR 1,260.00 58% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Marcellin Gilbert Desboutin have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Edgar Degas Au Chapeau in September 2020 with an auction result of EUR 10,400.00.
Oberer Schätzpreis um 58 % übertroffen
Im März 2021 führte Sothebys in Paris die Auktion Collection Pierre Le-Tan, Session II durch, in der auch die Arbeit Three Portraits of the Artist's Mother von Marcellin Gilbert Desboutin zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von EUR 1.260,00 und damit 58% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Marcellin Gilbert Desboutin auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Edgar Degas Au Chapeau im September 2020 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 10.400,00.
