It achieved a price of GBP 389,000.00 (€ 455,869.60), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 30%. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Marc Chagall achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Les Amoureux in November 2017 with an auction result of USD 28,453,000.00 (€ 23,914,103.21).

Die Arbeit Le coq jaune dans le ciel de Vence von Marc Chagall kam im März 2017 bei Christies in London zur Auktion. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von GBP 389.000,00 (€ 455.869,60) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 30%. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Marc Chagall erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Les Amoureux im November 2017 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 28.453.000,00 (€ 23.914.103,21).
