Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Paysage Avec Rivière by Marc-Aurèle Fortin was auctioned at Sothebys in Toronto in December 2009, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of CAD 18,000.00 – 22,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for CAD 13,200.00 (€ 8,803.99). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Marc-Aurèle Fortin achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work View Of Montreal From St. Helen'S Island in November 2012 with an auction result of CAD 462,500.00 (€ 357,948.69).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Paysage Avec Rivière von Marc-Aurèle Fortin im Dezember 2009 bei Sothebys in Toronto versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von CAD 18.000,00 – 22.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für CAD 13.200,00 (€ 8.803,99) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Marc-Aurèle Fortin erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit View Of Montreal From St. Helen'S Island im November 2012 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von CAD 462.500,00 (€ 357.948,69).
