The work Calligraphy in Running Script by Mao Dun was sold in the Fine Chinese Paintings auction at Christies in New York in September 2018. It achieved a price of USD 23,750.00 (€ 20,435.38), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 70%. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Mao Dun - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Calligraphy of Mao Zedong Poem, which sold at auction in March 2017 for USD 81,250.00 (€ 75,948.78).

Die Arbeit Calligraphy in Running Script von Mao Dun wurde im September 2018 in der Auktion Fine Chinese Paintings bei Christies in New York versteigert. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von USD 23.750,00 (€ 20.435,38) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 70%. Für andere Arbeiten von Mao Dun mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Calligraphy of Mao Zedong Poem beobachtet, die im März 2017 für USD 81.250,00 (€ 75.948,78) versteigert wurde.
