Auction result misses estimated price range

This work of art by Manuel Pailós could be acquired at Sothebys in New York in May 2018 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Property from the Estate of Bernard Chappard Online auction, the work Naturaleza Muerta changed hands for USD 2,375.00 (€ 2,035.13) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 3,000.00 – 4,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Manuel Pailós achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work without title in November 2008 with an auction result of USD 86,500.00 (€ 68,142.43).

Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne

Dieses Kunstwerk von Manuel Pailós konnte im Mai 2018 bei Sothebys in New York für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion Property from the Estate of Bernard Chappard Online wechselte die Arbeit Naturaleza Muerta für USD 2.375,00 (€ 2.035,13) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 3.000,00 – 4.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Manuel Pailós erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit ohne Titel im November 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 86.500,00 (€ 68.142,43).
