Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Ventana al Coro (Window to the Choir) by Manuel Álvarez Bravo was sold in the PhotographsSummer Cut auction at Bonhams in New York in August last year. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 800.00 – 1,100.00, the actual price achieved of USD 828.75 (€ 823.40) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Manuel Álvarez Bravo achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Portrait De L'Éternel, Mexico 1935 in November 2010 with an auction result of EUR 228,750.00.
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Ventana al Coro (Window to the Choir) von Manuel Álvarez Bravo wurde im August letzten Jahres in der Auktion PhotographsSummer Cut bei Bonhams in New York versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 800,00 – 1.100,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 828,75 (€ 823,40) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Manuel Álvarez Bravo erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Portrait De L'Éternel, Mexico 1935 im November 2010 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 228.750,00.
