Auction result well in line with expectations
In March 2012 Christies in New York held the auction South Asian Modern and Contemporary Art, which included this untitled work by Manjunath Kamath. It changed hands for a price of USD 13,750.00 (€ 10,311.98) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of USD 10,000.00 – 15,000.00. Admittedly, works by Manjunath Kamath have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Character in My Grandmother's Story in November 2007 with an auction result of HKD 511,500.00 (€ 44,714.46).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im März 2012 führte Christies in New York die Auktion South Asian Modern and Contemporary Art durch, in der auch diese Arbeit ohne Titel von Manjunath Kamath zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von USD 13.750,00 (€ 10.311,98) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 10.000,00 – 15.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Manjunath Kamath auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Character in My Grandmother's Story im November 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 511.500,00 (€ 44.714,46).
