Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Regardez-moi!, 1962 by Malick Sidibé was sold in the Modern & Contemporary African Art auction at Bonhams in Edinburgh in October this year. The price achieved of GBP 2,560.00 (€ 2,939.59) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 2,000.00 – 3,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Malick Sidibé achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work 'Les Amis Des Espagnols', 1968 in April 2021 with an auction result of GBP 35,280.00 (€ 40,582.26).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Regardez-moi!, 1962 von Malick Sidibé wurde im Oktober diesen Jahres in der Auktion Modern & Contemporary African Art bei Bonhams in Edinburgh versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 2.560,00 (€ 2.939,59) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 2.000,00 – 3.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Malick Sidibé erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit 'Les Amis Des Espagnols', 1968 im April 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 35.280,00 (€ 40.582,26).
