Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Girl On A Balcony by Mai Dantsig was auctioned at Sothebys in London in June 2015, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of GBP 8,000.00 – 12,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for GBP 6,875.00 (€ 9,693.66). Other works by Mai Dantsig have also sold for higher prices; the highest price we have seen at auction so far was achieved in November 2013 by the work Summer Picnic at GBP 15,000.00 (€ 18,050.49).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Girl On A Balcony von Mai Dantsig im Juni 2015 bei Sothebys in London versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 8.000,00 – 12.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für GBP 6.875,00 (€ 9.693,66) den Besitzer. Andere Arbeiten von Mai Dantsig wurden auch schon teurer gehandelt; den höchsten Preis, den wir bisher bei Auktionen beobachten konnten, erzielte im November 2013 die Arbeit Summer Picnic mit GBP 15.000,00 (€ 18.050,49).
