It achieved a price of USD 11,400.00 (€ 8,985.58), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 27%. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Madhvi Parekh - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work The Goddess, which sold at auction in July 2007 for USD 30,000.00 (€ 21,880.24).

Die Arbeit Durga von Madhvi Parekh wurde im September 2006 in der Auktion Modern and Contemporary Indian Art bei Christies in New York versteigert. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von USD 11.400,00 (€ 8.985,58) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 27%. Für andere Arbeiten von Madhvi Parekh mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit The Goddess beobachtet, die im Juli 2007 für USD 30.000,00 (€ 21.880,24) versteigert wurde.
