Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Ma Wanli could be acquired at Christies in Hong Kong in November 2020 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Exquisite Eye: Chinese Paintings Online auction, the work Reed Flowers changed hands for HKD 6,875.00 (€ 742.28) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of HKD 8,000.00 – 16,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Ma Wanli achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Flowers And Birds in April 2018 with an auction result of HKD 177,000.00 (€ 18,676.33).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Ma Wanli konnte im November 2020 bei Christies in Hong Kong für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion Exquisite Eye: Chinese Paintings Online wechselte die Arbeit Reed Flowers für HKD 6.875,00 (€ 742,28) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von HKD 8.000,00 – 16.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Ma Wanli erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Flowers And Birds im April 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 177.000,00 (€ 18.676,33).
