Auction result misses estimated price range
When this work without title by M. Sivanesan was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in March last year, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 3,000.00 – 5,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 2,520.00 (€ 2,271.70). Other works by M. Sivanesan have also sold for higher prices; the highest price we have seen at auction so far was achieved in March this year by the work Untitled (Nude); Untitled (Family With Bull); Untitled (Roosters) at USD 3,780.00 (€ 3,476.82).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als diese Arbeit ohne Titel von M. Sivanesan im März letzten Jahres bei Sothebys in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 3.000,00 – 5.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 2.520,00 (€ 2.271,70) den Besitzer. Andere Arbeiten von M. Sivanesan wurden auch schon teurer gehandelt; den höchsten Preis, den wir bisher bei Auktionen beobachten konnten, erzielte im März diesen Jahres die Arbeit Untitled (Nude); Untitled (Family With Bull); Untitled (Roosters) mit USD 3.780,00 (€ 3.476,82).
