Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Luke Elwes could be acquired at Christies in London in August 2005 for an unexpectedly low price. In the 20TH CENTURY BRITISH ART auction, the work Sedgemoor changed hands for GBP 300.00 (€ 438.25) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 500.00 – 800.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Luke Elwes - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Olgas, Dreamtime, which sold at auction in August 2005 for GBP 1,080.00 (€ 1,577.69).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Luke Elwes konnte im August 2005 bei Christies in London für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion 20TH CENTURY BRITISH ART wechselte die Arbeit Sedgemoor für GBP 300,00 (€ 438,25) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 500,00 – 800,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Luke Elwes mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Olgas, Dreamtime beobachtet, die im August 2005 für GBP 1.080,00 (€ 1.577,69) versteigert wurde.
