Auction result misses estimated price range
In November 2015 a collector was able to acquire the work Homenaje a Amelia Peláez by Luis Martínez-Pedro for USD 14,375.00 (€ 13,610.11). This price was achieved in the auction Latin America at Phillips in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 15,000.00 – 20,000.00 set by the auction house. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Luis Martínez-Pedro - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Composition No. 16, which sold at auction in November 2016 for USD 43,750.00 (€ 41,359.43).
