The work German behind The Scenes by Ludwig Knaus was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in May 2016. It achieved a price of USD 87,500.00 (€ 78,581.05), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 25%. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Ludwig Knaus - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Charity, which sold at auction in April 2006 for USD 296,000.00 (€ 234,474.02).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 25 % übertroffen
Die Arbeit German behind The Scenes von Ludwig Knaus kam im Mai 2016 bei Sothebys in New York zur Auktion. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von USD 87.500,00 (€ 78.581,05) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 25%. Für andere Arbeiten von Ludwig Knaus mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Charity beobachtet, die im April 2006 für USD 296.000,00 (€ 234.474,02) versteigert wurde.
