Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work Nine woodblock prints (i-ix): by Lucky Madlo Sibiya was sold in the Modern & Contemporary African Art Online auction at Bonhams in London in August last year. It achieved a price of GBP 956.25 (€ 1,106.55), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 20%. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Lucky Madlo Sibiya achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Ntombis Dance in October 2019 with an auction result of GBP 16,250.00 (€ 18,848.83).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit Nine woodblock prints (i-ix): von Lucky Madlo Sibiya wurde im August letzten Jahres in der Auktion Modern & Contemporary African Art Online bei Bonhams in London versteigert. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von GBP 956,25 (€ 1.106,55) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 20%. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Lucky Madlo Sibiya erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Ntombis Dance im Oktober 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 16.250,00 (€ 18.848,83).
