Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work 40 Days and 40 Nights by Lucien Smith was sold in the Post-War to Present auction at Christies in New York in March last year. Here, the upper estimate of USD 35,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for USD 39,060.00 (€ 35,211.39). Admittedly, works by Lucien Smith have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Hobbes, The Rain Man, and My Friend Barney / Under the Sycamore Tree in November 2013 with an auction result of USD 389,000.00 (€ 285,903.28).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit 40 Days and 40 Nights von Lucien Smith wurde im März letzten Jahres in der Auktion Post-War to Present bei Christies in New York versteigert. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von USD 35.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für USD 39.060,00 (€ 35.211,39) einen neuen Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Lucien Smith auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Hobbes, The Rain Man, and My Friend Barney / Under the Sycamore Tree im November 2013 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 389.000,00 (€ 285.903,28).
