This artwork by Lucian Freud achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in London in February 2012. In the The Printer's Proof: Etchings by Lucian Freud from the Studio Prints archive auction, the work Head of a Naked Girl sold for GBP 32,450.00 (€ 38,746.16) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 15,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Lucian Freud achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Large Interior, W11 (after Watteau) in November last year with an auction result of USD 86,265,000.00 (€ 83,565,823.89).

Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen

Dieses Kunstwerk von Lucian Freud erzielte im Februar 2012 bei Christies in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion The Printer's Proof: Etchings by Lucian Freud from the Studio Prints archive wurde die Arbeit Head of a Naked Girl für GBP 32.450,00 (€ 38.746,16) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 15.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Lucian Freud erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Large Interior, W11 (after Watteau) im November letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 86.265.000,00 (€ 83.565.823,89).
