In October 2019 Sothebys in New York held the auction European Paintings, Drawings and Sculpture, which included the work Study Of A Sleeping Child by Luc-Olivier Merson. The »bidding war« ended at USD 6,875.00 (€ 6,163.16), 38% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Luc-Olivier Merson achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Luc-Olivier Merson (Paris 1846-1920) 247 Dessins: 50 Dessins Originaux De Luc-Olivier Merson Pour Les Trophées De José Maria De Heredia, 1895-1907. Réunis Dans Deux Volumes (Respectivement 21 Et 29 Dessins) In-Folio Reliés Uniformément Par Crett in April 2013 with an auction result of EUR 83,100.00.
