In January 2012 Sothebys in New York held the auction Old Master & 19th Century European Art, Including Property from The Forbes Collection: The Panorama of Champigny, which included the work Study For The Figure Of "Spring" At L'Opéra Comique, Paris by Luc-Olivier Merson. The »bidding war« ended at USD 11,250.00 (€ 8,618.71), 61% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Luc-Olivier Merson have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Luc-Olivier Merson (Paris 1846-1920) 247 Dessins: 50 Dessins Originaux De Luc-Olivier Merson Pour Les Trophées De José Maria De Heredia, 1895-1907. Réunis Dans Deux Volumes (Respectivement 21 Et 29 Dessins) In-Folio Reliés Uniformément Par Crett in April 2013 with an auction result of EUR 83,100.00.

Im Januar 2012 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion Old Master & 19th Century European Art, Including Property from The Forbes Collection: The Panorama of Champigny durch, in der auch die Arbeit Study For The Figure Of "Spring" At L'Opéra Comique, Paris von Luc-Olivier Merson zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 11.250,00 (€ 8.618,71) und damit 61% über dem oberen Schätzpreis.
