Auction result well in line with expectations
In November 2021 Sothebys in New York held the auction American Art, which included this untitled work by Louis Stone. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 15,000.00 – 25,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 15,120.00 (€ 13,395.94) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Louis Stone - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Untitled (Abstract Composition), which sold at auction in October 2021 for USD 56,700.00 (€ 49,082.41).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im November 2021 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion American Art durch, in der auch diese Arbeit ohne Titel von Louis Stone zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 15.000,00 – 25.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 15.120,00 (€ 13.395,94) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Für andere Arbeiten von Louis Stone mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Untitled (Abstract Composition) beobachtet, die im Oktober 2021 für USD 56.700,00 (€ 49.082,41) versteigert wurde.
