Auction result well in line with expectations
In November 2000 Christies in Melbourne held the auction AUSTRALIAN AND INTERNATIONAL PAINTINGS, which included the work Andalucian Landscape by Louis Robert James. The price achieved of AUD 3,525.00 (€ 2,133.49) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as AUD 3,000.00 – 5,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Louis Robert James - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Red Night, which sold at auction in August 2002 for AUD 11,750.00 (€ 6,584.36).
